Last year more than 60 boats competed and this year we expect even more boats and more fun. Our pursuit format on Saturday for big boats with classes for Spinnaker, Non Spinnaker, J22 and Family/Cruising Canvas features courses for sailors of all talents.
Spinnaker and Non spinnaker racers can qualify for the Boat of the Year with NBYA. The J-22 One Design Class was very competitive last year and we hope more of the J-22's from around the bay will join in. The Family Class will receive a 3 sec/mile advantage if they take along a junior sailor. There will be long spinnaker runs, tight reaches and all around great fun!
The Regatta proceeds and Raffle will benefit the Community Boating Center in Providence, RI.
Our Awards & Deck Party is the best known good time on the Bay! Racers and Non-Racers are welcomed to join in the Deck Party, which will begin as soon as the racers arrive back at the EGYC dock around 4:30-5:00pm. Live Island Music by Alger Mitchell, fabulous food, great awards, and a slide show of the day's activities. Come join us!! It is ALWAYS a sellout. Last year more than 350 people joined in the festivities.
Best Regards ~ Maggie McGillivray, 2016 EGYC Annual Regatta Chairperson
